Hematite The Hematite is also known as hematite or Bloodstone . It picks up this last name because when this stone is cut, it releases a fine powder that in contact with water causes it to take a reddish red. The hematite is highly appreciated by all cultures since ancient times. It was considered as stones of luck and defender of the rights of its owner in lawsuits.  Hematite was believed to cure the evil eye and was useful in winning legal proceedings.
